2024-2025 BES Update

Congratulations to all of our students who participated in Destination Imagination’s Regional Tournament in February. Burtonsville Elementary was represented by five teams: BCHLNTX, BES Weather Crew, The Galaxy, I-Stem Creators, and Mighty Eagles. You all worked hard and did an amazing job, representing BES proudly! We are so proud of each one of you. A special thank you to Ms. Ruffa and Ms. McMahon for coming out to support our students.

Our 4th/5th grade team, BCHLNTX, (their initials) brought home 1st place in the Technical Challenge, "Breaking Point" category, and Instant Challenge. Congratulations to Benjamin Lerebours, Christiana Prempeh-Mbi, Henry Gueringer IV, Leyla Watson, Nile Brown-Lawrence, Tyson Roberts, and Roger Xavier Blanco.

What is DI?
Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit organization who provides a project-based learning program to kids in K-12, and University level. Every year DI provides 7 different types of challenges for kids to choose from, ranging from Technical, Scientific Research, Fine Arts, Improvisational, Structure Engineering, and Service Learning projects.
